Bell Atlantic conducted a readership test with Direct Mail Post-it® Notes. As evidenced below, there was a significant increase in response from people who had received the piece that included the Post-it® Note.

  • 100,000 total mailed
  • 10,000 included a Direct Mail Post it  Note

There was an 18% increase in response from consumers who received the piece with the Post-it® Note over those who received just the letter.

 DIRECT MAIL POST-IT NOTE CASE STUDY #2

The Objective: First Charter Bank wanted to convince automobile owners to refinance their outstanding auto loans using First Charter’s low-interest refinancing rates. The mailing targeted both existing and non-customers and used Direct Mail Post it Notes on the outside of the envelope.

The Program:

150,000 pieces mailed, 75,000 did not have a Direct Mail Post it note.
75,000 pieces mailed contained a Direct Mail Post-it note applied to the envelope.

Customers called an 800 number to refinance their loans. One for the piece with the post it note and one for the piece with out.

The Results: Charter Bank lifted their responses by over 44% with the note.

They secured 846 auto loans, 500 of which resulted from the direct mail piece that utilized the Direct Mail Post it note 346 with out. The business generated from the use of Post-it Notes more than paid for the tactic.
